Work
Professional journey and engineering impact.
Senior Fullstack Engineer
In a full remote team, I have been working on Camunda Cloud since the early hours. It is a workflow engine (Zeebe) in the cloud that executes BPMN processes. My responsibilities are spread all over the stack, so I am responsible for both backend and frontend systems. As a team, we work closely with the SRE organization and product teams to build a fully comprehensive solution.
Cloud Adviser
SICK is one of the leading companies in sensor technology. My goal was to build up a scalable DevOps organization at a new location for the development and expansion of the cloud offering. As a bridge between product management and R&D, I introduced agile and lean techniques to improve the software development process. The team was able to successfully use the techniques to effectively and efficiently create services such as the AppPool or the AssetHub.
Team Lead Order Management
I was one of the first developers of a new team to build the new order management platform for IONOS. The first phase was characterized by the implementation of the platform based on BPMN processes, close collaboration with the business support systems teams and the business department with whom I discussed and coordinated requirements and improvements. After the launch of the first process I became lead developer for the rollout of the remaining international order processes. One of my first actions in my new role as team lead was to unify the development and operations teams. In this DevOps organization, I had the plan-build-run responsibility of the order management platform. In addition to the day-to-day business of constantly developing the platform and implementing requirements from the various product lines, several legacy systems had to be migrated to the new platform.
Research Associate
At the FZI, I already wrote my diploma thesis in the field of healthcare and aimed for a PhD in the context of Ambient Assisted Living. During this time, I was able to work with other European research institutions on projects like universAAL. However, I had to realize that I am not made for research ;) The FZI Forschungszentrum Informatik (Research Center for Information Technology), is a non-profit research institute for applied computer science in Karlsruhe, Germany. FZI was established in 1985. FZI has very close collaborations with Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), but is not affiliated to KIT Karlsruhe.
Software Engineer and Consultant
Camos was my first full-time job after graduation. I enjoyed the mix of software development and customer consulting and gained experience in working with customers. I was responsible for the first introduction of the core product to customers, training of customers with the development kit and first customizations of the core product to customers’ requirements. CAMOS is a German software company that specializes in developing and providing enterprise resource planning (ERP) software for small and medium-sized businesses. Their software, CAMOS ERP, offers a range of features such as financial management, supply chain management, and project management. The software is designed to be easy to use, and can be customized to fit the specific needs of a business. CAMOS also provides support and training services to help customers get the most out of their ERP software.
Master of Science in Computer Science
When I was 10 years old, I programmed with Turbo Pascal for the first time. Actually, I knew since then that this is what I want to do in the future. And so I studied computer science at KIT. I deepened in the subjects information systems and telematics and wrote my diploma thesis in health care. The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) is a public research university located in Karlsruhe, Germany. It was formed in 2009 by the merger of the University of Karlsruhe and the Karlsruhe Research Center. KIT focuses on natural sciences, engineering, and technology, and offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate degree programs. KIT is also a member of the TU9 German Institutes of Technology, a group of the nine leading technical universities in Germany.
